Front Runner as defined by Meriam Webster is “a contestant who runs best in the lead.”
Indeed, this defines the vision of Front Runner Boats’ founders, two fishing buddies and business partners who saw an opportunity to build the boats they enjoyed, but with their own ideas on how to build them better!
We're sorry, we couldn't find any Front Runner to display at this time.

Designed by Erwin Gerards, we worked to create a unique Proud Bow paired with a stepped hull—offering that classic Florida sportfish feel. Erwin is responsible for some of the most notable hull designs in the industry, working with the likes of Garlington, Gamefisherman, L&H, Maverick, and Rybovich—amongst others.
Technology
Our boats are compatible with all types of modern offshore fishing technology. When we start to design your Front Runner, we build around your preferred technology. There is no technology that we cannot accommodate. We’ve partnered with the most respectable and reliable brands in marine tech to ensure that our boats have you covered while you’re out on the water—letting you focus on the experience.
Power
When it comes to power, we only use the best. Front Runner has partnered with Mercury Marine to provide our clients with the most reliable and best-performing power solutions on the market. We offer power configurations for several different models of Mercury Motors in twin, triple, and quad setups.
Maintainability
The lazarette opens up into the easily serviceable bilge which features dual Best Marine sea chests. Each sea chest has 3 pumps as well as hi and low-speed pickups. The sea chests also supply water for all onboard systems that utilize seawater (live wells, washdown, air conditioning, and Seakeeper, if equipped). Our bilges feature a clean design, with maintainability in mind. Steering and trim tab pumps are plumbed into the console to reduce corrosion as well as to keep them out of the elements for longevity.
Components
Quality of craftsmanship is all about the details—no single one is overlooked—from the custom metalwork down to the smallest screw. We have partnered with industry-leading components manufacturers to ensure that your Front Runner can handle anything you throw at it. Quality is built into each Front Runner by utilizing the best construction materials for superior fit and finish.
Storage
No matter what type of fishing you do, we have a storage solution for you—from the three transom live wells to the cavernous and comfortable interior space. The creature comforts don’t jeopardize fishability as every avid fisherman will appreciate that the Front Runner is rigged for serious offshore fishing.

Front Runner was founded by two fishing partners, Mark Lacovara and Phil Mahn, who began buying, fixing, and selling boats before launching a boat dealership in St Augustine in 2016. What sets them apart is that there are no big corporate investors, no loans to pay back, and no one telling them what shortcuts to take - they are simply left alone to build center-consoles the way they want to build them, with the philosophy "We can build it better".
